Local-first invoice storage

InvoiceMaker.org is designed so invoice, estimate, quote, proforma invoice, credit note, purchase order, and receipt drafts are stored in your browser on your device. The current static website does not create an account, upload document contents, or store customer details on an InvoiceMaker.org server.

Information you enter

You may type business names, addresses, document numbers, line items, tax fields, payment terms, and notes into the invoice maker. This information is processed in your browser to calculate totals, show the preview, save drafts, restore saved documents, print, or download a file.

Information we currently collect

The current static local-first maker does not collect account registration details, billing details, passwords, payment card information, or cloud invoice contents. A web host may process technical logs needed to deliver the site, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, referring page, date, and time of request.

Information future features may collect

If accounts, payments, newsletters, cloud sync, advertising, analytics, customer support, or API access are added later, the site may need to collect information such as name, email address, company details, billing details, login credentials, payment metadata, support messages, usage logs, or consent choices. Those features should not launch until this policy, cookie controls, and related terms are updated.

Browser storage

Saved documents use your browser's local storage on the same device and browser profile. Anyone with access to that device or browser profile may be able to view those saved documents. Clearing browser cache, site data, local storage, or using some cleanup tools can permanently remove saved documents from the device.

Download or print invoices, estimates, quotes, proformas, credit notes, purchase orders, and receipts as required by your legal, tax, accounting, and business recordkeeping obligations. InvoiceMaker.org cannot recover locally saved documents after they are removed from your browser.

Cookies

The current static local-first maker does not need account cookies to create documents. Browser local storage is used for saved drafts and history. If analytics, advertising, cookie-based personalization, sign-in, payments, or cloud storage are added later, this policy and any required cookie controls should be updated before launch.

See Cookie Settings for the current status of optional cookies.

Hosting logs and analytics

A web host may process basic technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of request to deliver and secure the website. Do not add analytics, advertising pixels, or cloud invoice storage unless this policy is updated before launch.

How information is used

Information processed in your browser is used to create documents, calculate totals, preview layouts, save local history, restore drafts, print, download, and export records. Technical hosting logs may be used to deliver the site, troubleshoot errors, protect security, measure aggregate traffic, and prevent abuse.

Service providers

Hosting, security, domain, backup, analytics, advertising, payment, support, or email providers may be used if those features are added. Service providers should only receive information needed to perform their services and should be reviewed before launch for privacy, security, and legal fit.

Legal requests and safety

We may disclose information we actually hold if required by law, court order, valid legal process, government request, security investigation, fraud prevention, protection of rights, or enforcement of our terms. Because invoice contents are currently stored locally in your browser, we generally cannot provide or remove documents that we do not possess.

Retention

Local drafts and saved documents remain in your browser until you delete them, erase local history, clear site data, or your browser removes them. Technical hosting logs, if any, are retained by the hosting provider according to its operational and security settings.

Your responsibility for client data

If you enter another person's or business's details into an invoice, make sure you have a lawful reason or permission to use that information. InvoiceMaker.org is a formatting and calculation tool, not legal, accounting, or tax advice.

Your choices and rights

You can delete saved documents from the maker or History page, erase local history, clear browser site data, download files, export JSON or CSV history, and print PDFs. Depending on your location, you may also have privacy rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information that a service provider or future account feature actually stores.

Contact, access, and deletion

Because documents are stored locally in your browser, InvoiceMaker.org cannot access, recover, or delete them remotely. You can delete saved documents from the saved documents list or clear your browser site data.

Children

InvoiceMaker.org is intended for business and professional document creation. It is not designed for children or for knowingly collecting children's personal information.

International use

The site may be accessed from many countries. Privacy, tax, invoicing, and recordkeeping rules vary by location. You are responsible for using the tool in a way that complies with rules that apply to you and your clients.

Policy changes

We may update this policy when the site, storage model, vendors, analytics, advertising, payments, accounts, or legal requirements change. Review this page periodically for the latest privacy information.
